pink blueberry

Goodness it's freezing here right now!
I have a hard time just bundling up in all winter colors and feeling so sad because the sun isn't out!
I've been still wearing pinks and loafers every day, especially last week when I wore this little business casual getup.

I love the top notch, especially when my hair is dirty and it works so well to make a big hive on top of my head, I used to think it didn't look great on me, but other's have reassured me that it works for my round face!

pants: ralph lauren (but I cut the tag out a while ago because they zip up the back and they were itching me, so I'm not 100% positive on that! ha)

I tried to bring some sunny cheer with this coral ann taylor skirt, but it was still freezing.

Hannah

mustard!

a few monthes ago my Oma (Joan- 91 years old) told me over breakfast that the 3 most popular things of 2010-2011 were going to be sequins, gold and mustard.
I didn't fully believe her because, that would just be a dream come true, but here we are in full on golds, every shade of mustard and sparkly sequins EVERYWHERE! I love it!

She is so "in" with her information, I love it.

This is just a sweet little comfy outfit I wore to the flea market with some girls and then to lunch at a favorite spot in nashville Fido in Hillsboro Village, I was warm and comfy and I felt cute with my little collar on!

sunday brunch.

for the past few weeks Robert and I have been "cleansing" basically not eating any wheat, dairy or sugar.
So far, we have been really happy with how out bodies have responded!
But 2 or 3 Sunday mornings we've been making it a ritual to eat brunch at our favorite nashville spot, Marche!

my favorite is the eggs and grits with tomatoes!

a little catchup.

so last weekend we were all dressed and ready to face a windy day in Nashville for the flea market, but after driving over to the Fair Grounds, we found out it was actually this weekend....So we just made the best of it and went thrifting, visited the Cocoa Tree (amazing chocolate place in Germantown) and enjoyed the day as the sun came out.

We finished the day off with some martini's, games and movies.

winter winds.

Well I hope everyone survived the freezing work week!
The got really cold her, snow, schools cancelled and everyone stocking up at the grocery store.
This weekend has been everything a weekend should be,
Robert just got back this week so we didn't do anything but catch up on sleep,
eat soup and experiment with some almond bread (recipe to follow!) catch up on parks & rec, and watch some seinfeld.

Friday I spent the whole day with one of my very favorite people, Crista.
She had a snow day and we were able to sip coffee, eat sushi, craft and make fish taco's for our Friday ritual.

Here are a few shots from a weekend outfit:

and here a few instagram shots from my weekend.

And here is my lovely gluten free almond-flax seed bread!
I was really impressed at how well this turned out, it was really nice and hearty (as most gluten free bread is) and really good toasted with some almond butter or jam! (also- it's low carb!)

recipe:

3 c. blanched or regular almond meal (bob's read meal or trader joe's)
3/4 c. ground flax seed
3/4 tsp. celtic sea salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
5 eggs
1 1/2 tb. raw honey
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar

1. combine the almond, flax, salt and baking soda together in a bowl and sift.
2. in a stand or hand mixer combine the eggs, honey and vinegar
3. stir the dry ingredients into the wet until all combined
4. pour into a regular loaf pan (or 2 small loaf pans)

bake at 350 for about 45 minutes, or until knife comes out dry

(other ideas: add raisins, cranberries, nuts, bananas, chocolate chips, chives and garlic!)

enjoy!

chocolate pretzel

this week has been so fantastic!
my pup and I have been camped out the past few days at my parent's house because my hubs + dad are both out of town this week.
this week has been full of:
late nights, dark chocolate and movies,
early morning cuddles with pups,
making soup and gluten free bread,
whole foods and walks in downtown franklin,
lots of coffee and speed solitaire,
good chats and happy hour every day.

i am truly blessed!

also this week got a little bit colder that i anticipated so my mom lent me this super comfy skirt! (it was from old navy! what a surprise!)

necklace- i picked up this beauty at a clothing exchange with some girls- not sure where it is from but i love it!
skirt- lent from momma- old navy
hair- inspired by A Beautiful Mess
(i didn't do it exactly like them- but it was a great guide!)

thanks,
xo
